The oil and gas division of Reliance Industries Ltd's Jamnagar Refinery conferred with the Institute of Engineers' 'Safety Innovation Award' for the year 2010.
The award presented on December 28 at the "Safety Convention 2010", organized by the Safety and Quality Forum of the Institute of Engineers. Reliance Jamnagar Refinery is also the third largest refinery in the world with the capacity to process 27 million tones of crude per annum.
As per Latest the chairman of the Safety Convention 2010, Pradeep Chaturvedi Interviews, she said that, "The award is being presented for its operational excellence, environment management, quality, safety and corporate social responsibility."
Apart from Reliance Industries, the other companies which have been selected to receive safety excellence awards include Reliance Infrastructure , Mahindra & Mahindra , ACC Ltd , NTPC , Indian Oil Corporation , BSES, GAIL , NDPL, HPCL, Bharat Petroleum , Escorts Ltd , ONGC and Hindustan Petroleum.
