At 2nd March Wednesday, now you can see India Minister of Environment and Forest Shri Jairam Ramesh in Jamnagar Town, for first ‘National Centre for Marine Biodiversity’ project in Jamnagar Gujarat India. He will also address a press conference here.

The event hosted by Gujarat Ecology Commission will be held at Marine National Park office, Dwarka road, Jamnagar District.

It should be mentioned here that Gujarat Forest and Environment Minister Mangubhai Patel had recently met Jairam Ramesh in Delhi and had proposed such national-level institute for elaborate research in the area of marine biodiversity. Ramesh had asked for a detailed plan for the proposed institute.

The first marine national park of the country situated at Jamnagar has rich marine biodiversity.
Moreover, it is also vulnerable as the area is surrounded by industry.

In view of this intense research input and conservation from an academic point of view is required to preserve the fragile ecosystem.

The institution can help in better regulation and monitoring of the area.
