Half Marathon marks Navy Week in Jamnagar City.
INS Valsura at Jamnagar conducted an Open Half Marathon (21 km) and a 10.5 km run on Sunday as part of the Navy Week celebrations. More than 1,200 participants took part in the event. The race was flagged off from the ‘Raksha Shakti Sthal’ at Lakhota Lake by Mayor Kanaksinh Jadeja and ended at the INS Valsura Sports Stadium.
Prizes were awarded in various categories at a function where Commodore A S Sethi, Commanding Officer, INS Valsura addressed a massive gathering, and congratulated the winners.
Lt Commander Prabha Lall said: “December 4 is traditionally observed as ‘Navy Day’ every year in the country and on this occasion, the Navy’s and INS Valsura’s endeavour is to bring the Navy closer to the countrymen and provide an opportunity for a close interaction.”
